So I had always hated my nose since I was a teenager and in my twenties I finally decided to take the plunge and get Rhinoplasty, I had told Mr Sharp I hated the bump on my nose and also how big my nose was. He seemed very nice and safe to go to so I went a head with my surgery, the initial reveal was actually quite pleasing though my nose was in my opinion still big I was satisfied the the bump which I hated had gone, sadly over the weeks it has slowly started to come back and 6 months in now is quite noticeable. My nose is also not straight any more and one side it is lumpy and gives a slight crooked appearance, this might not seem awful but you dont pay £7,000 for a nose job to have a slight bump still and also it looking lumpy on one side. So I ended up asking for a revision which was promptly denied, I am very upset.

Following diagnosis of a collapsed nasal passage which had led to seriously disturbed sleep owing to the inability to breathe properly, I was referred to Mr Sharp who listened with interest to what I had to say. He then explained what could be done to rectify the situation and this would involve surgery inside the nose to correct the collapsed (and also misaligned) passage and restore the ability to breathe normally once again. This operation is known as a septoplasty. I was put on the waiting list and on the 30th April 2018 admitted to Kent and Canterbury Hospital to undergo the procedure. Mr Sharp and his team met with me and I underwent the surgery under general anaesthetic. After the operation I was advised that the procedure had gone well and discharged the same day. I was told that recovery would be rather slow for the next couple of weeks but would slowly improve after this. Six weeks after the operation, I can confirm that my life has been transformed. I am now breathing fully through both nostrils and am beginning to achieve sustained periods of sleep as things improve. I attended a review with Mr Sharp and he was very pleased with my progress. I cannot thank Mr Sharp and his team enough. The quality of care received coupled with the expertise of Mr Sharp cannot be faulted and I remain indebted to them. Thank you all so much. Mike Thompson
